For actor Dev Joshi who is well-known for his performance on the television series “Baalveer,” the phrase “to the moon and back” may come true. Joshi is the youngest of the seven persons who will take a SpaceX journey to the moon in 2023.
How Dev Joshi Got an Invitation to this Mission?
The lunar crew features an intriguing selection of passengers led by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa. Maezawa declared that he had chosen all of the people who would travel with him around the moon. The moon squad, powered by SpaceX Lunar Tourism Mission, features numerous people, including DJ Steve Aoki and Tim Dodd.
Notably, this lunar trip also includes an Indian actor. Questioning who? Dev Joshi, a television actor, rose to stardom by playing the title character in the serial Baal Veer. The other members of the crew are South Korean rapper Choi Seung Hyun alias T.O.P., Czech artist Yemi A.D., photographers Rhiannon Adam, Karim Iliya, and Brendan Hall, a documentary director
When will the Lunar Expedition Launch?
The website claims that Dear Moon will launch its lunar trip in 2023 using the new SpaceX Starship spacecraft system. Interestingly, despite a few quick hop tests, Starship has failed to make its first orbital test flight. Elon Musk anticipates that Starship will start making regular flights by 2023.
Mission to the Moon: The Dear Moon Project
The DearMoon project first became public in 2018. Originally only planning to fly with artists, Yusaku Maezawa broadened his vision and invited travellers worldwide to join him on this cosmic voyage. According to reports, he claimed to have received a million requests for this lunar voyage before making his picks.
The winners were revealed on the dearMoon website and Twitter. Dev can be heard saying the following in a video on the website: “You have seen me as a superhero flying across space. Make it happen now.”
