[BU]: How did you set a goal and accomplish it?
[NJ]: I’ve worked tirelessly and hard, and if there’s one thing I’ve realised, it is there are no shortcuts, and there is no easy way. You have to have PASSION, DEDICATION, AND COURAGE TO FOLLOW DREAMS, AND YOU HAVE TO HAVE DREAMS. You also have to have integrity, zabaan, and value systems to go the route of success.
I always dreamt big but made the sacrifices required to reach my goals.
I also have a significant role model in my husband, KRS Jamwal, a hero in not only my eyes but in the eyes of the world – a brave genius who is also The Gold medallist from IIM Ahmedabad’s most successful batch and a gold medallist from IIT and Executive director Tata Industries founder of Tata Cliq and many other Start-ups but with the most humility and diffidence. With him, as a big part of my life, I have to say anything I do would be less than what I should do and should achieve.
[BU]: How do you manage several tasks at once?
[NJ]: I’ve always had so much passion, energy, and excitement about my work. I’m always keen to do more and never to please anyone or be part of any herd but actually and genuinely to experience experiences I dream of in terms of work. I sometimes feel I could burst with my desire to do more, write more, and work more with brands so much that sometimes even my clients tell me to take a break and not drive myself.
I’m self-driven; I dared to be me. I chose to fly every dream. I broke the walls of limitations & paid close attention to my inner voice, hearing closely what my heart said. I say open your eyes rather than judge! It takes great courage to open up to the glare of the world & to bare ones soul—the courage to be what you fantasised about. Life gives you some courage, years provide you with strength, and outrage enables you!
When you are enabled, you carve out your dreams, quietening the noise, edging out the flotsam, and soaring lightly with your achievements.
Design, shapes, and forms have been attractive since I was three or maybe before. I can almost only see a space or fabric or canvas with my mind and vision clicking with ideas to enhance it to its aesthetic function in accordance with my vision.
Sometimes there is an upsurge of ideas; I find it challenging to keep pace with my mind.
[BU]: What do you like outside of work?
[NJ]: I’m a social media influencer and fond of technology. I travel immensely. I am currently learning how to use the telescope and the piano, and I am on a fitness mission. Apart from that, I am an avid movie buff and a reader, and I have a vast and incredible circle of friends whom I like to celebrate and meet often. Spending time with my hero, my role model, and my highest reverence KRS Jamwal is my greatest joy. So yes, apart from work, I have a lot that engages me and keeps me more inspired in my various works.
[BU]: What challenges did you have to overcome at the beginning of your journey?
[NJ]: Early on, I realised that life for me is more challenging than most people around me. I had a tough childhood and an even more challenging life going forward. I made adversity into my ally, and I chose to grow through the challenges and roadblocks. I learned through difficulties, so much that what was viewed as my inspiring story even drew the attention of international best-selling author Lord Jeffrey Archer. He has chronicled my life story in ‘And Thereby Hangs a Tale,’ where her real name calls me. This story is now picked as one of the most popular stories by Lord Jeffrey Archer and is part of his unique collection of stories.
[BU]: What message would you like to give the young generation?
One must follow one’s dream and pick up messages of motivation as we go along! Speaking to Aamir Khan in an interview, I found that he makes everything he does an extraordinary outpouring of his passion and commitment. Something that I am personally inspired by.
Our youth must passionately pursue their life journey with hard work and dedication. And always do something big or small for society – give back to your ecosystem as part of your life.
[BU]: What routines do you follow each day?
[NJ]: I don’t have a set routine – I live in an erratic of words art luxury shoots and filming as well as events hosted by my company Nisha JamVwal Luxury. Every day is very different and primarily inspiring. I try to take a break for one day a month (apart from Sunday) just to complete personal lounging and errands.
[BU]: How do you deal with fear and doubt?
[NJ]: I’m a writer, and writing is cathartic and lightens my heart of burdens, and I say what I am feeling and share it with millions of my readers
The second way I deal is by doing a lot of community service. My enduring commitment is toward the education and educational development of underprivileged children and to promote adoption as well literacy for disadvantaged children, especially in Orissa with The Harsha Trust.
I support and work with Smile Train India for individuals afflicted by cleft Lips.
