On October 10, Tata Motors began taking orders for its reasonably priced Tata Tiago EV. In less than 24 hours, the business said it received over 10,000 reservations for the Tata Tiago EV. Tata Motors has expanded the special introductory rate, beginning at 8.49 Lakh, to an additional 10,000 customers in response to the customers’ desire and further to encourage the widespread adoption of EVs in the nation.
Tata Electric Car
The all-electric Tiago, marketed in four trims: XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech Lux, has been introduced as Tata’s most economical EV. The Tiago is now the only hatchback in India with access to all-electric, internal combustion engine (ICE), and CNG powertrain options.
While we have already discussed the on-road and operating cost comparisons between EVs and petrol-powered vehicles, in this article, we will compare the Tiago EV against its CNG counterpart. Remember that the EV only comes with an automatic transmission, while the CNG models only get a five-speed manual gearbox.
Currently, the Tata Nexon EV is India’s most popular 4-wheel EV, accounting for 63% of the market in FY22.
