Know Everything Related to the Zika Virus Karnataka Case

After learning of the initial instance of the Zika Virus in Karnataka in a five-year-old child, the Health Department is on constant alert. The north Karnataka girl from Raichur, who contracted a fever on November 13, was subsequently sent to a hospital in Sindhanur. Zika Virus Karnataka State: What is It?

The Flaviviridae virus family consists of the Zika Virus variation, which is transmitted via the attack of an Aedes mosquito that is active during the day. Myelitis, neuropathy, and Guillain-Barre syndrome are all associated with the disease. In Kerala, the first Zika virus case was discovered in 2020. The disease spreads significantly faster in chilly, overcast, and drizzled conditions. Most affected individuals exhibit no signs or symptoms, while a few have a temperature, redness, and muscle fatigue.

    Indications of the Zika Virus?

Zika Virus symptoms can continue for two to seven days, including fever, rashes, headaches, joint discomfort, red eyes, and muscular soreness. According to reports, the illness caused by this virus is often minor, with only a small number of severe cases necessitating hospitalization and mortality. However, the virus can lead to significant birth deformities and pregnancy issues if contracted while pregnant.

The Aedes mosquito species, which often bites during the day, is how the virus is transmitted. Sexual contact and blood transfusion are additional ways to spread the disease. The monsoon season is when the Zika Virus in Karnataka is supposed to apply more severely.

    Treatment for This Illness

Is Zika Virus deadly? There is no vaccine or therapy for the Zika Virus in India. Clinical studies on blood or urine samples can determine the virus. Treatment with fever reducers or analgesics is given to infect with dermatitis, headaches, headache, or bodily pain.

    The Spread of Disease

Researchers from the National Institute of Virology and the ICMR in Pune claim that local disease transmission has begun and has been discovered in several new states.

Delhi, Aligarh, Hyderabad, Pune, Kanpur, Amritsar, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Ranchi, and Thiruvananthapuram are among these states. Of 1250 samples retroactively screened for Zika from May to October 2021, 67 proved positive.

In Pune’s Bavdhan neighborhood, a 67-year-old man was also discovered to have the Zika virus in early December, following the Zika Virus Karnataka case. On November 6, the man, a native of Nashik, arrived in Pune. He presented to Jahangir Hospital on November 16 with a temperature, headache, body aches, and exhaustion; on November 18, an independent laboratory made the Zika diagnosis, which the health department had previously reported.
